This Sunday it was a joy to have as our guests missionaries for whom we are a primary sending church. Zachary grew up in ACC, and Sara was a part of the Church of Tollhouse most of her life. They share about the ministry God has given them with Ethnos 360, in Asia-Pacific region. (Note: much of their message was accompanied by a slideshow—listeners will have to use their own imagination!)
Our guest this for the second week of Missions Month is Rob Cravy, Chief Operating Officer of the Fresno Rescue Mission. His texts are John 5:1-15 and 11:1-44. (Note: several video clips were shown during Pastor Rob's message, which are omitted in this audio recording.)
Our first guest speaker/preacher for our month-long Missions Festival is Zach Darrah, Executive Director of FIRM, Inc., a locally-based ministry which has as its goal to "share Christ’s love to build communities of hope with new Americans." Zach's sermon text is John 4:27-34.
The sermon text is Matthew 7:21-23. The scripture reading at the beginning is James 1:22-25.
We are happy to have back with us again for this and next week, Sam Musgrave. Sam's text this Sunday is Psalm 130.
While Ron's first sermon of this two-part series focused on humility, this week's sermon is about forgiveness. His text is Matthew 18:21-35, of which there is a reading before the message. Also, just short of the 40 minute mark, there is a video you are encouraged to view on YouTube. A time of prayer follows the showing of the video. One other note: one of ACC's elders, Tim Buletti gave an update to the church as to where we are presently as a congregation. His text can be found on our Bulletin Announcements page.
Our guest speaker for our first two Sundays of the new year is Ron McLain, Founder & Executive Director of the Healthy Marriage Coalition, in Fresno. His sermon text this week is Colossians 3:1-4.
This Sunday we have had a slightly different sermon presentation from our usual services. It is brought by our Missionary At Large, Pastor Oren Teel. His text is Isaiah 6:1-8. The passage is read at the beginning. When presented, each part of the message was punctuated by a song (which you will have to imagine for yourself!). Here is the outline:
I. Why we turn to God (v.1a).
Song: “Where Does My Help Come From?”
II. We see a holy God (vv.1b-4).
Song: “Open the Eyes Of My Heart”
Song: “Holy, Holy, Holy”
III. We see ourselves as sinners (v.5).
Song: “Lord, I Need You”
IV. We see a forgiving God (vv.6-7).
Song: “Mighty To Save”
V. We see our place of service (v.8)
Song: “Behold the Lamb (The Communion Song)”
